Join Tailored to Move at ICRA 2026: Call for Posters and Demos now open

The SWAG project is pleased to announce the Call for Posters and Demos for the Tailored to Move: Wearable Robotics for Motion Assistance workshop to be held on 5 June 2026 as part of IEEE ICRA 2026 in Vienna, Austria. The call invites researchers, students and professionals to share their latest work, preliminary results and innovative ideas with an international community working at the forefront of wearable robotics.

The poster and demo track has been designed as a central part of the workshop’s interactive format. It offers contributors the opportunity not only to present their work, but also to engage in discussion with peers, exchange feedback with experts in the field, and take part in a programme that brings together research, technological development and real-world applications in motion assistance.

The call for posters welcomes 1-page abstract submissions across a range of themes relevant to the future of wearable robotics. These include human-in-the-loop robotics, with a focus on context-aware, symbiotic and adaptive assistance; wearable hardware integration, covering the development of sensors, actuators, smart textiles and energy systems; health and user impact; rehabilitation and independence; and ethics and regulation, including how developments such as the EU AI Act are shaping the design and deployment of human-facing wearable robotic systems.

The call for demos invites proposals for live demonstrations of wearable robotic systems, with particular interest in functional devices such as exoskeletons, exosuits and assistive systems, as well as novel actuation or sensing technologies, human-in-the-loop control, real-world applications, and interactive systems suitable for hands-on exploration. As highlighted by the organisers, demonstrations will be a central component of the workshop and will provide a valuable opportunity to showcase working systems to an international audience.

All poster and demo submissions should be 1 page in length and submitted in PDF format, with a template made available through the submission form. According to the published guidelines, all proposals will be reviewed by the organising committee. Accepted abstracts will be presented during the workshop’s interactive poster session, and presenters will also have the opportunity to introduce their work through flash presentations during the event.

The call also creates further visibility opportunities for contributors. The workshop organisers note that selected poster abstracts will be invited to submit full papers to a special issue of Advanced Robotics Research on Wearable Robotics for Assistance, Rehabilitation, and Augmentation. In addition, the workshop will include both a Best Poster Prize and a Best Demo Prize, recognising particularly engaging, creative and high-potential contributions.

Through this call, Tailored to Move aims to create a lively and interdisciplinary space for sharing emerging research and working systems in wearable robotics. For SWAG, this is an important opportunity to bring forward research and innovation that advances motion assistance while keeping user needs, practical applicability and human-centred design firmly in view.
